Rev. Heather Locklear has been serving in pastoral ministry since 2015 and will be ordained at Annual Conference this year. She is an alum of Methodist University (Fayetteville, NC), The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and Duke Divinity School. She is a life-long United Methodist and a life-long Duke fan married to a life-long Carolina fan. She and her husband, Jay (pastor at New Brook UMC), will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary this June. She loves the vastness of God’s kingdom, the grace found in Jesus Christ and the power and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. She is passionate about worship and loves a church filled with laughter and good music of all kinds that glorifies God! She is the mother of two grown boys: Anthony lives with his fiancée in Roxboro and Joshua and his wife reside in Spring Lake. She is Memaw to 4 grandchildren - Atticus, Charlie, Hazel and Leighanna. She and Jay are also parents to Henry, their dog of almost 14 years. Heather loves to sing, paint, and write and she is very excited at the prospect of serving God alongside the folks at Allensville UMC and Mt. Tirzah UMC.
